Relying on solar energy is a fool's game--think clouds. Yet the eco-nuts
continue their Chicken Little dance of the sky is falling, the sky is
falling. Climates have always been changing. Always have, always will.
Far greater danger from TOO. MANY. PEOPLE.

Not to worry Sharx. :-)
I doubt they've yet got around to researching the impact of the Carrington
effect on all those solar panels, plus the associated newfangled monstrous
batteries created with a proclivity to become infernos. (Let alone the
newfangled batteries inside most everyone's cellphone.)
Coincidental with the developing expatriate Semitic effect, that could do
even more for population control than what David P. has been yearning for
here. ;-)

Speaking of David P., WTF is he? One of those stick in the muds who
adamantly refuses to access UseNet through infernal Slutember?

If you remember, I predicted a couple months ago we would lose members
of this group. Four of them are gone now and the effect is noticeable.
Add the fact that other members haven't picked up the slack and it's
easy to see the demise of this group.

For all of David P.'s wackiness, at least he provided snippets of
articles which often led to discussions.

hiccum was good for an occassional laugh.

tedw and Rob D. fed off each other when it came to controversial topics.

And now we've pretty much lost LaRocca, Warner, Charlie who only drop
in every few weeks.

I barely see Ted H., Fred, Ken, CW anymore.

One look at the monthly statistics should make all this clear.

eternal-september is a reliable, simple vehicle for accessing ARAA. I
found it easy to install and it has worked just fine 99% of the time.
PLUS, it's totally free. I still can not fathom why anyone would choose
to PAY to access ARAA when a free option is simple to use and freely
available.

Why do you keep harping on this? It’s not the news server which they are
afraid of, it’s a different newsreader they don’t want to learn. Also
Google Groups has the added advantage of being accessible from any web
browser and doesn’t require installing additional software or trying to get
through firewall ports. It’s all the spammers which Google couldn’t control
for some reason that led to the demise of Google Groups accessing Usenet.
It still works for their internal groups, but the door to the outside has
been closed.

WTF. It takes the IQ of a newt to be able to download and install, for
example, Thunderbird...no charge. I've found it to be fairly easy to
use, too. Back in the day, they had Outlook Mail but that went away.

So many have no problem with Linux and T-bird is magnitudes easier and
simpler, so I just don't understand why anyone would now shun ARAA using
that for an excuse. Just. Plain. Lame. HARP HARP HARP.

This is partly true. There have been all sorts of solar flares sent
toward Earth even during our communication age. The difference between
Earth and most other planets is the magnetic force. It protects us
from vast amounts of solar energy.

What about the electromagnetic radiation emanating from all those
millions and millions of vibrators?

That’s what caused the recent earthquake…
