In an effort to provide sustenance to its drought-stricken population,
Namibia has devised a plan to cull 723 wild animals, including 83
elephants, and distribute the meat to those struggling to feed
themselves due to the severe drought affecting southern Africa.

The culling will be carried out in parks and communal areas where
authorities believe the number of animals exceeds the available grazing
land and water resources, as said in a statement released on Monday.

Southern Africa is currently experiencing its worst drought in decades,
with Namibia having depleted 84% of its food reserves last month, as
reported by the United Nations. It is anticipated that nearly half of
Namibia's population will face high levels of food insecurity in the
coming months.

The environment ministry warned that without intervention, the severe
drought is likely to increase human wildlife conflicts. "To this effect,
83 elephants from identified conflict areas will be culled, (and) meat
will be allocated to the drought relief program," the statement said.

In addition to elephants, the country plans to cull 30 hippos, 60
buffalo, 50 impala, 100 blue wildebeest, 300 zebra, and 100 eland.

If God didn't want humans to eat animals, he wouldn't have made us out of
meat!
Same goes for Mother Nature.

That has hopefully got all the Pino's, Dino's, Rino's and Wokes answered;

People have to eat and it seems more than co-incidental that many vegans
skew to the left, politically.Look at our dental structure--humans are
omnivorous, NOT herbivorous Our teeth are designed to handle both meat

If the Namibians really wanted to help their people they would sell
hunting licenses to rich foreigners for game hunting! They would cull
the herd, get some tourism, and bulk up the treasury.

When I used to spend more time on/in the water than away from it, it was the
Sharks seldom heard about that used to scare me. They've a reputation for
overturning boats and eating the occupants, and I regularly paddled a mile
or so back to my yacht in a kayak, after AA meetings, in the dark!

Charlie, that is too close to the truth. Look up terms like "urinary

Decades ago, I was given a free airplane ride with our famous "flying
doctor" to a regional Hospital, where nurses were getting their friends to
come look at my urine which was so full of blood it looked like claret.
They gave me free plane ride home, instead of a bus ticket, when I demanded
menstrual napkins for the journey. ;-)

In an effort to provide sustenance to its drought-stricken
population, Namibia has devised a plan to cull 723 wild animals,
including 83 elephants, and distribute the meat to those struggling
to feed themselves due to the severe drought affecting southern
Africa.
The culling will be carried out in parks and communal areas where
authorities believe the number of animals exceeds the available

Southern Africa is currently experiencing its worst drought in
decades, with Namibia having depleted 84% of its food reserves last
month, as reported by the United Nations. It is anticipated that
nearly half of Namibia's population will face high levels of food
insecurity in the coming months.
The environment ministry warned that without intervention, the severe
drought is likely to increase human wildlife conflicts. "To this
effect, 83 elephants from identified conflict areas will be culled,

statement said.
In addition to elephants, the country plans to cull 30 hippos, 60

Culling herds of local animals is a common practice everywhere. In
America deer is the most common animal to be thinned out when they
become too many to manage for the available resources. When I lived in
Maine it was moose, which is a type of deer.
