On Wednesday Phoenix experienced the the 101st day in a row with
temperatures topping 100 degrees and there is little relief in sight.

Temperatures are expected to stay above 100 degrees for the next week.

WTF...just get A/C in your home and vehicles and avoid the outdoors as
much as possible when too hot or too cold or too wet. Or move to a more
clement climate. No point in just bitching about it.

There's a whole bunch of empty-headed Chicken Littles, thank to the
main-stream media, running around like chickens with their heads cut
off. They're and their media liars are oh so sure that the Earth is
about to end. HORRORS--the sea level is ever so slowly rising! WTF,
increases and decreases of sea level have occurred many times in the
Earth's history. Always have, always will. So start using your brains
people and learn to ADAPT to changes in the climate and stop the fuck
building anything on the shoreline unless it can tread water.

Living in "interesting times" and yet another challenge/opportunity for
spiritual awakenings:

“We are stuck here on our shrinking, warming planet that we love so much
and depend on so totally,” Allen wrote. “We are all in the sort of place
where a chaplain’s presence is needed.”

Eco-chaplains serve multiple generations of people. One consists of
older adults dealing with personal losses of careers, aging friends and
declining health and abilities. Many may also be mourning decades of
environmental advocacy they feel has, for the most part, failed.

A second group is young adults frightened about the prospect of
inheriting a planet beset by wildfires, floods and other cataclysmic
effects of climate change.

And the beat goes on. ;)

Long before Amazon delivered most anything to the door, lazy people would
pay good money for someone to do their thinking for them.

I went to AA to get my thinking done for me. At least in recognising that,
I've the choice of doing something positive about it, and make room to
bring a different set of imperfections into focus, if I want to find them.
;-)

And the best goes on. :-)

Similar up here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The local rag said it was
the warmest July ever neglecting to include the fact that the
temperature measuring location has been moved several times resulting in
the current temp. records only going back to the 1990s. Also, we had one
of our coldest Decembers "ever"...at least back to 1990 something.

Bottom line? Our condo has a heat pump which does an admirable job of
keep temp at 70 during the day and 65 at night. The vehicle also has A/C
AND our parking is in a secure underground parkade. So, no problem, we
are only exposed to the extreme temps when going outside. Solution?
Avoid going outside the condo or the car as much as possible. Why would
anyone voluntarily expose themselves to such unpleasantness. Choices,
you know.

Scientist calls for Americans to cut off air conditioning in summer,
claiming it causes global warming

A scientist is calling for Americans to cut off air conditioning after
refusing to use it for 25 years during the throes of the summer in order to
combat climate change.

Stan Cox is an Ecosphere Fellow at the Land Institute who also believes the
U.S. military is an "enemy" to mitigating climate change. He wrote a guest
essay in the New York Times on Saturday, "I Swore Off Air-Conditioning, and
You Can, Too," claiming that "air-conditioning is making our summers even
hotter" due to climate change.

The scientist described drastic steps to stay cool in the summer, such as
using the lawn sprinkler and spending most summer days on the porch, in the
park or anywhere else beyond the sweltering heat of his home.

"Our species evolved, biologically and culturally, under wildly varying
climatic conditions, and we haven’t lost that ability to adapt. Research
suggests that when we spend more time in warm or hot summer weather, we can
start feeling comfortable at temperatures that once felt insufferable.
That’s the key to reducing dependence on air-conditioning: The less you use
it, the easier it is to live without it," he said.

Sick bastard didn't realise he was equally bleating about his own brain, and

lethal, under his own bloody collar.

In compensation for the aircon he turned off, China built a new coal powered

The Land Institute is in Kansas. Clearly Mr. Cox has no idea what it's
like to live in the Southeast states with the humidity at 90% and the
dewpoint reaching 80 most of the summer.

Yet so many countries are sucking up to China, don't expect any censure
of China anytime soon re their ongoing, increasing use of coal. WTF, my
home province of Alberta, Canada, is sitting on, literally, BILLIONS of
dollars of coal but the jeremiads/eco-nuts have put an end to using ANY
of it for power generation, no matter how filtered and scrubbed the
emissions.

Might as well stay out there for a while. Looks like a tropical storm
is coming to Baton Rouge.
