Has anybody watched CBS News since they changed their format last week?
Instead of reporting the news it's now more of an essay format, more
like 60 Minutes, with an even further left bias. It's the weirdest
thing I've ever seen. This giant leap backwards, along with their
recent doctoring the Kamala Harris interview to swing the election in
her favor pretty much marks the end of the road for CBS News. I've been
watching them since Walter Cronkite was the anchor. Not no more.

I have not seen their new format, but I noticed a drastic change in
network news (particularly CBS , which I used to watch all the time)
during Trump's first election and presidency. It seems that once Trump
declared war on the "fake news" media, the decision was made to ditch
objective journalism in favor of editorializing, and taking shots at
Trump whenever possible.

Ditto for Canadian media whipping up the Canadian populace into an
anti-American frenzy...e.g. Canadians booing the U.S. anthem at hockey
games. I am one Canadian who views that as juvenile to the extreme. Now,
our Canadian media would have us all pay inflated prices just to avoid
buying U.S. products. Sorry, but I will not buy into main stream media's
still fighting the 2024 U.S. election results. U.S. liberals are doing
what the Repubs did 4 years ago--not accepting the election results.

Tony, not that I am above all this tumult--I am not serene about my
Canada's last 3 federal election results--not a fan of my present PM or
his government which seems rife with anti-semitism, I might add.

CBS is still owned by Jews, isn't it? That's makes it
Jewish. Does calling it Jewish change your mind and
cause you to defend it?

[in Andy Rooney's voice] Did you ever notice that the Left
used to complain about the mass media being monopolized by a
handful of corporations but now the Left says it is
outrageously Right-Wing to complain about the same thing that
the Left used to complain about?

I shouldn't be offended by denunciations of Trump, but am offended
when ideas are dismissed by the establishment as being "Trump Issues",
as if there are no issues but Trump, like we've been told in the last
ten years, that we are living in some sort of black hole of News,
where no knowledge escapes to reveal itself, and Trump and only Trump is
the relevant subject of all political conversation.

My last name.
I think I've shared some of my interesting :) family history. My father
Raymond Harris Thomas, the son of Heber Harris Thomas Jr. was born in
Ogden Utah. Harris is also my middle name.

Heber Harris Thomas Sr. (1862-1926), who was born Glamorganshire, Wales
was active as a photographer in Ogden Utah between 1890-1910.

A Bing search Heber Harris Thomas Sr. and the Mormon church got "about
3,680,000 results."

When I was too young to appreciate the history. My grandmother's maiden
name was Taylor. Another clan that was involved in the early history of

Instead of reporting the news it's now more of an essay format, more

Here in Canada, the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.) is heavily funded
by our federal government. Chockful of highly paid management but quick
to lay off front line staff, making sure there is money for excessive
bonuses for the liberal flunkies.Whenever there is a news story about
Pres. Trump, once can almost see the sneer and/or eye roll of the news
reporters on the CBC.

I'm with you, Mike..Everything is a spin..At my gym, they have a row of
TV's with two of the TV's next to one another being Fox News and
CNN..The difference in reporting is astounding.

The worst comparison I see is between Fox News and their deep throating
anything Trump on Fox and Friends, and Rachel Maddow, defending the
Dems. to the end.

Sometimes I buy The New York Times from a Newspaper
stand. I find it to be mendacious tabloid trash, but what
of it? What I am supposed to do, only read stuff I agree with?
My local newspaper is almost as expensive and the portions
of crap are much smaller, and their national news comes
from the New York Times anyway.

I used to watch both MSNBC and Fox, just to compare and contrast their
reporting. Usually both were guilty of sins of omission -what they
didn't like they just didn't report. It left me with the impression
that if one just watched one or the other, they would be sorely
under-informed.

Here's a perfect example of lefty news outlets ignoring what they don't
like. MSNBC and CNN deemed this mornings' profoundly moving and
truthful speech too reality-grounded to show their viewers:

It ranks in greatness up there with Churchill's 'Iron Curtain' speech.

LOL, "lefty news outlets?" Is that an example of open mindedness?

Has anybody watched CBS News since they changed their format last
week? Instead of reporting the news it's now more of an essay format,
more like 60 Minutes, with an even further left bias.  It's the
weirdest thing I've ever seen.  This giant leap backwards, along with
their recent doctoring the Kamala Harris interview to swing the
election in her favor pretty much marks the end of the road for CBS
News. I've been watching them since Walter Cronkite was the anchor.
Not no more.

I don't watch the news.  I read the news online from various sources to
get the other side of the story.  Watching it on TV just pisses me off.
I'm with you, Mike..Everything is a spin..At my gym, they have a row
of TV's with two of the TV's next to one another being Fox News and
CNN..The difference in reporting is astounding.
The worst comparison I see is between Fox News and their deep
throating anything Trump on Fox and Friends, and Rachel Maddow,
defending the Dems. to the end.
I used to watch both MSNBC and Fox, just to compare and contrast
their reporting.  Usually both were guilty of sins of omission -what
they didn't like they just didn't report.  It left me with the
impression that if one just watched one or the other, they would be
sorely under- informed.

Polarity makes the world go round because it spurs wars and the
consequent expenditures.

It is easier to understand if one learns early.

It would be more appropriate for maddow to be deep throating.

I could be wrong, but I see it all as a market share thing..CBS knows
Fox News and Newsmax pretty much has the right wing segment sewn up, so
they figure to gain more with some right wing bashing.
