Thought of mike's descriptions of Virginia when I read this today:

"As I drove to Monticello [from DC], I observed how Virginia is
largely a tale of two states. Northern Virginia, those
incorporated municipalities that serve as suburbs to the
District of Columbia, has always felt somewhat distant from "the
South" in the ways I grew up understanding it. But beyond the
suburbs, once I started driving by the diners and gas stations
with Dixie flags hanging in their windows, I was reminded that
this state was once the bastion of the Confederacy."

Northern Virginia appears to have sunk into the bog of the Deep State.
More's the pity.

Yeah, pretty much anything north of Fredericksburg is a suburb of
Washington DC. But just like any other state, the cities of Richmond and
the seven cities of Hampton Roads are strongly blue. In my area they have
renamed all the community colleges, public schools and roads which had any
hint of Confederacy. Even in Charlottesville, the home of Thomas Jefferson,
they have tried to remove him from the University of Virginia which he
founded. My old high school, the Fairfax Rebels, are now known as the
Fairfax Lions.

Here in Canada, the arsehole woke LIEbrawls damage public property,
tearing down expensive statues, for example, and the authorities turn a
blind eye. Just like in Portland, Oregon. And Seattle. Fucking shithole
sanctuary hellholes.
