Hi all,

SOme of you may recall that old Chronocidal Charlie would from
time to time write with a kind of patois. At one point (when
being criticized for it) he said he was trying to emulate a
certain well-regarded writer who had made great use of such common
vernacular. Does anyone know who the author was?

May be a clue here, Ted.

Nice, thanks. That was at least one exchange I was thinking of.
I don't recall if there might have been others.

It was nice to see some names and writing of some other passed
members. Though a bit sad.

Ted, I can't rightly answer your question. But, I thank you for
mentioning Charlie. It seems but yesterday that I would look forward to
his most interesting and intriguing stories about his daily life in
Tejas, in that motel then, later, at the marina. So soon life passes,
one day at a time.

This is probably as good a time as ever to admit what an asshole, at
times, I have been to you. I must ever remind myself to respect others'
choice of a Higher Power. It is not my business as to their opinion of mine.

At the age of 78, I am rapidly coming to the realization that, while
"it's not over 'til it's over", it's time to put various matters in
order...not just "papers" but matters of a spiritual nature, too.

Thanks for posting that, Bob. I saw several names, e.g. Tex, that I
hadn't seen in a LONG while.

That seems about the right age that most people facing their mortality
seem to find God...

The spiritual odyssey is ongoing.

Maybe in a smaller bubble than I'd believed, but all the evidence I've seen
is that God theory becomes less important.

No worries, Dave.
